Install ReMarkSync on macOS

Outcome: You will install the signed and notarized Mac app and open guided setup.

Before you begin

• Install and sign in to the official reMarkable desktop app. See how to set it up.
• Know whether the Mac uses Apple silicon or an Intel processor.

To check, open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. If the hardware line says Chip, use Apple silicon. If it says Processor, use Intel.

Install the app

1. Open the ReMarkSync download page.
2. Select Download Apple silicon DMG for an M1 or newer Mac, or Download Intel DMG for an Intel Mac.
3. Open the downloaded DMG from Downloads.
4. Drag ReMarkSync into Applications.
5. Open Applications, then open ReMarkSync.
6. In ReMarkSync, select Get started.

Expected result

ReMarkSync opens at Detect your notes. macOS recognizes the app as a signed and notarized application. Later releases appear as an in-app banner; see how to check What’s new and install an update.

If your screen looks different

Finder may open the DMG automatically after download. Window controls appear on the left on macOS, while Windows controls appear on the right.

Troubleshooting

macOS says the app cannot be opened

Confirm you downloaded ReMarkSync from remarksync.com. Do not bypass an unexpected security warning. Download the current signed DMG again or contact support.

You downloaded the wrong Mac version

Delete only the downloaded DMG, return to the download page, and choose the installer that matches the Chip or Processor line in About This Mac.
