The best e-ink tablet for OneNote: how each one gets your notes there

Updated · 5 min read

Short answer

It depends on how you want to use OneNote. If you want the OneNote app itself on the tablet, an Android e-ink tablet can run it. If you want a focused paper feel and your notes in OneNote automatically as real ink, a reMarkable with ReMarkSync does that. Kindle Scribe models released in 2025 or later can send notebooks to OneNote as images or text, one export at a time.

Four tablets, four very different roads into OneNote.

We make ReMarkSync, a paid app for reMarkable tablets. The other tablets on this page are described from their makers’ own pages, checked in October 2026.

First, decide what you need

E-ink tablets reach OneNote in very different ways, so “best” depends on how you work. Answer from the top: the first “yes” is your tablet.

  1. 1Do you want to write in the OneNote app itself, on the tablet?

Android e-ink tabletIt can install OneNote, so you write straight into your notebooks.
  2. 2Should your notes reach OneNote by themselves, as ink you can edit?

reMarkable + ReMarkSyncA paper tablet without apps, synced from your computer as real ink.
  3. 3Do you mostly read, and need a notebook in OneNote only now and then?

Kindle ScribeYou share a notebook to OneNote when you need it.
  4. 4OneNote is not central to how you work.

SupernoteA focused writing tablet. Pages reach OneNote only if you export them.

Why ink or picture matters in OneNote

When notes arrive from another device, they can land as a picture, as typed text, or as ink. That decides what you can do with them later.

A picture of the pageFrom: Kindle Scribe (image), Supernote (export)
Read it: Yes
Keeps your drawings: Yes, flat
Change it later: No, one picture
Typed textFrom: Kindle Scribe (converted text)
Read it: Yes
Keeps your drawings: No, words only
Change it later: The text, yes
InkFrom: Android tablet (written in OneNote), reMarkable + ReMarkSync
Read it: Yes
Keeps your drawings: Yes
Change it later: Yes, stroke by stroke

A picture is fine for reading. Typed text is easy to search. Ink you can still select, move and recolor, like notes you wrote in OneNote yourself.

Questions people ask

Can any e-ink tablet run OneNote?

Yes, e-ink tablets that run Android 9 or later with Google Play can install the OneNote app. reMarkable, Kindle Scribe and Supernote cannot install it.

Does Kindle Scribe sync to OneNote automatically?

No. Kindle Scribe models released in 2025 or later can share a notebook to OneNote as an image of each page, as converted text, or both. You start each export yourself, and each one adds new pages instead of updating the old ones. PDFs and other documents go to OneDrive or Google Drive instead.

Does Supernote work with OneNote?

Not directly, as of October 2026. Supernote can back up files to OneDrive, but it has no OneNote option. You can export a page as a PDF or PNG and insert it into OneNote by hand.

Is a reMarkable a good choice for OneNote users?

Yes, if you want a paper-like tablet without apps and are happy to sync through your computer. With ReMarkSync, the notebooks you choose arrive in OneNote automatically as real ink. Without it, you can only export PDF copies.

Do I need a computer for ReMarkSync?

Yes. ReMarkSync runs on a Windows PC or a Mac, next to the official reMarkable desktop app, and sends your notes to OneNote from there. Your computer needs to be on for new notes to sync.
