Terms of Service and End-User License Agreement
Last updated: July 17, 2026
These terms form the agreement between you and Adnane Miliari, the operator of ReMarkSync. They apply when you download, install, start a trial, subscribe to, or use ReMarkSync.
Please read these terms before using ReMarkSync. By selecting Agree and open ReMarkSync during setup, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not continue with setup or use the app.
What ReMarkSync does
ReMarkSync is a desktop application that syncs content you select from the official reMarkable desktop app to the Microsoft OneNote account you connect. Syncing runs on your computer, and ReMarkSync does not modify your reMarkable tablet.
ReMarkSync is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by reMarkable or Microsoft.
To use ReMarkSync, you need a compatible Windows or macOS computer, the official reMarkable desktop app, a Microsoft account with access to OneNote, and an internet connection.
Your account and software license
- Use an email address you control and can access.
- Keep your account secure. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account and for computers activated with your subscription.
- You must be legally able to enter into a contract where you live. If you use ReMarkSync for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms on its behalf.
- Contact support promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account or misuse of your license.
While your trial or paid subscription is active and you comply with these terms, the operator of ReMarkSync grants you a limited, non-exclusive, and non-transferable license to install and use the app for personal or internal business purposes.
Unless your plan states otherwise, one subscription may be used on up to two compatible computers in total. They may both run Windows, both run macOS, or one of each.
This license allows you to use ReMarkSync. It does not transfer ownership of the software or its source code.
What you may not do
You may not:
- Share or transfer your account, license, or access credentials.
- Sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the app.
- Bypass trial, subscription, computer, activation, or other access controls.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code, except where applicable law expressly allows it.
- Use ReMarkSync to copy or sync content you do not have the right to use, violate another person's rights, or break applicable law.
- Disrupt the app, its supporting services, security controls, or another user's access.
- Use automated or deceptive methods to create accounts, obtain trials, or activate computers.
Trials, subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
- Eligible new users can start a 7-day free trial without providing a payment card. The trial begins only when you choose to start it inside the app.
- The trial is intended for first-time evaluation and may be limited to one per person, ReMarkSync account, Microsoft account, or computer.
- Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the monthly or annual billing frequency shown at checkout until you cancel.
- The price, billing frequency, applicable taxes, renewal information, and exact total are shown before you complete a purchase.
- Polar acts as the merchant of record and handles checkout, payments, invoices, applicable taxes, refunds, disputes, and billing communications. The purchase transaction is also subject to the Polar Checkout Buyer Terms.
- You can cancel future renewals through the billing portal at any time. Cancellation stops the next renewal charge. Unless you receive a refund or applicable law requires otherwise, access continues until the end of the current paid period.
- Refund requests are handled under the Refund Policy. These terms and the Refund Policy do not limit any consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
- Any renewal price or price protection shown when you purchase forms part of your plan terms. We will provide advance notice before any other price change applies to a future renewal.
Your content, privacy, and backups
You keep ownership of your notes, documents, and other content. ReMarkSync does not claim ownership of that content. You are responsible for having the right to access and sync content to the Microsoft account and OneNote notebooks you select.
Sync processing happens on your computer. ReMarkSync's backend manages account access, trials, subscriptions, licenses, and activated computers. It does not receive the content being synced.
ReMarkSync writes to OneNote according to the library selections, sync settings, and deletion mode you choose. Review those settings before syncing and keep independent backups of important content. ReMarkSync is a sync tool, not a backup service.
The Privacy Policy explains what information ReMarkSync processes, why it is needed, how long it is kept, and how to make a privacy request. Optional desktop analytics remains off unless you enable it, and you can turn it off at any time.
Third-party services, updates, and compatibility
ReMarkSync depends on Microsoft, reMarkable, Polar, Windows, and macOS. These providers operate under their own terms and policies, and we do not control their availability, APIs, file formats, pricing, security, or service changes.
We may release bug fixes, security updates, compatibility improvements, and new versions of ReMarkSync. Some updates may be required to keep the app secure or compatible, and older versions may eventually stop working. If a third-party change causes an interruption, we will make reasonable efforts to restore compatibility, but we cannot guarantee that every change can be supported.
If a service change materially reduces a paid feature during your current billing period, we will provide reasonable notice and apply any remedy required by law. This may include restoring the feature, providing a reasonable alternative, allowing cancellation, or issuing a refund.
Nothing in this section removes any responsibility that the operator of ReMarkSync has under applicable law.
Ownership
ReMarkSync, including its software, source code, design, name, logo, documentation, and related materials, is owned by the operator or its licensors. Except for the software license granted in these terms, no ownership rights are transferred to you.
Suspension and termination
When your trial or paid access ends, ReMarkSync stops performing new syncs. Ending access does not automatically delete content from your reMarkable, your computer, or OneNote.
We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach of these terms, fraud, abuse of trials or activations, a serious security risk, unlawful use, or a refunded or reversed payment. Unless the situation requires immediate action, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to correct the problem.
Warranties and liability
ReMarkSync is designed and maintained to work as described with compatible software and services. However, no software can be guaranteed to operate without interruption or errors, and future changes to third-party services may affect compatibility.
Nothing in these terms excludes warranties, remedies, or consumer rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReMarkSync is not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or losses caused solely by a third-party service outside our reasonable control.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total liability arising from ReMarkSync is limited to the amount you paid for the service during the 12 months before the event that caused the claim.
This limit does not apply where liability cannot legally be limited, including fraud, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer rights and remedies.
Governing law and disputes
If you have a dispute relating to ReMarkSync, contact support first so we can try to resolve it. Contacting support does not prevent you from making a formal claim or exercising any consumer right.
These terms are governed by the laws of Morocco. Courts in Morocco will have jurisdiction unless mandatory law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere. If you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory protections provided by the law of your usual country of residence.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when ReMarkSync, its billing model, third-party integrations, or applicable legal requirements change. The latest version and effective date will be available on this page.
If a change materially affects your active subscription, we will give reasonable advance notice by email, through the app, or both. It will not remove rights from a period you have already paid for unless required by law or needed to address a serious security or abuse risk. If you do not agree, you may cancel future renewals and stop using ReMarkSync.
